Method 1: Stop the current SNTP session

Find out how to stop the SNTP server temporarily.

Complete these steps if you want to stop the SNTP server temporarily. These instructions stop the SNTP client server for the current TCP/IP session. However, SNTP will start again when TCP/IP restarts.
  1. In iSeries™ Navigator, expand My Connections > server-name > Network > Servers > TCP/IP.
  2. Right-click SNTP, and select Stop.
SNTP will not make time adjustments to your system time during the current TCP/IP session. However, SNTP will restart when TCP/IP is restarted. To stop SNTP from starting when a new TCP/IP session begins, complete the steps in Method 2: Stop SNTP also.
