Verify the time zone properties

View this topic to view or change the time zone system value and its associated properties.

You can view or change the time zone system value. This topic describes how to view the current time zone and its associated properties. You can use a time zone supplied with the system or create your own. If you need to edit a time zone supplied with the system, it is recommended that you create a new time zone based on the supplied time zone. This ensures that the edited time zone will not be replaced when the i5/OS™ is upgraded or reinstalled.
  1. In iSeries™ Navigator, expand My Connections > server-name > Configuration and Service > Time Management > Time Zones.
  2. On the Time Zones dialog box, verify that the time zone specified in the Current time zone system value field is correct.
    1. If the current time zone is not correct, select a time zone from the list of available time zones and click Change system value. Otherwise, create a new time zone.
    2. Click OK to confirm the system value change.
  3. Select the current time zone from the list of available time zones and click Edit.
  4. On the General page, verify that the Offset is specified correctly.
  5. On the Daylight Saving Time page, verify that the daylight saving time start and end times are specified correctly, if applicable.
  6. Click OK to close the time zone properties.
  7. Click OK to close the Time Zones dialog box.
