Verify the time zone message properties

View this topic to view or change the time zone properties that reference a message file for full and abbreviated names.

If you are using a message file to retrieve the Standard Time or Daylight Saving Time names for a time zone and the names are not displaying correctly, verify the time zone's message properties.

To verify the Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time names for a time zone, complete the following steps:

  1. In iSeries™ Navigator, expand My Connections > server-name > Configuration and Service > Time Management > Time Zones.
  2. Select the time zone that you want to work with from the list of Available time zones.
  3. Click Edit.
  4. On the General page, ensure the Message file is specified correctly.
  5. Ensure that the Library name is specified correctly.
  6. Ensure Use name specified in message is selected.
  7. Ensure the Message ID is specified correctly.
  8. If you are observing DST, complete the following to verify the DST message properties are specified correctly:
    1. On the Daylight Saving Time page, ensure Enable Daylight Saving Time is selected.
    2. Ensure that Use name specified in message is selected.
    3. Ensure that the Message ID is specified correctly.
  9. Click OK to close the time zone properties.
