Connect the Operations Console cable

Follow these instructions to connect the Operations Console cable.

1. Turn off and unplug the PC that is going to serve as the system console.
2. Locate the Operations Console cable (PN 97H7557). Connect the Operations Console cable to the right connector of the 2771 or 2793 adapter located in position C06 on the back of the server. Are you using Operations Console with LAN connectivity?
   • No
   1. Connect the other end of the Operations Console cable to the first or only communications (serial) port on the back of the PC being used as the console.
   2. Continue with the next task.
   • Yes

   If your primary choice is LAN connectivity, you do not need to connect the Operation Console cables to your PC at this time. If you develop a problem, you can connect these cables to the PC and configure Operations Console. See Operations Console.

   1. Connect a network cable from the adapter card in position C04, C03, or C11 to your local network.
   2. Continue with the next task.
