Choose a Web application server

Set up iSeries™ Navigator for Wireless to run using an ASF Jakarta Tomcat servlet engine, or a WebSphere^® Application Server (WAS). You can find set up instructions here for WAS 5.0 Base Edition and WAS 5.0 Express Edition.

You can use several Web application servers to run the iSeries Navigator for Wireless servlet. The following Web application servers are recommended:

• Configure your ASF Jakarta Tomcat servlet engine for HTTP Server (powered by Apache)
  Create and configure the servlet engine for your wireless network.
• Configure your WebSphere Application Server, Base Edition, Version 5.0
  Create and configure an HTTP server using WebSphere Application Server for your wireless network.
• Configure your WebSphere Application Server, Express Edition, Version 5.0
  Create and configure an HTTP server using WebSphere Application Server Express Edition for your wireless network.
