If the primary disk pool for a secondary disk pool is deleted, or if the
primary disk pool is not aware of the secondary disk pool, the secondary
disk pool needs to be re-associated with a primary disk pool. You can recover
the disk pool group through iSeries™ Navigator.
To recover a disk pool group, follow these steps:
- In iSeries Navigator,
expand My Connections (or your active environment).
- Expand any iSeries server.
- Expand Configuration and Service.
- Expand Hardware.
- Expand Disk Units.
- If the Service Tools Signon dialog box displays, sign on to service tools.
- Select Disk Pools.
- Verify that the required primary disk pool exists. If it does not, you
must Create a disk pool.
- In the right pane you can select one or more secondary disk pools that
need to be associated with the primary disk pool. Right-click all the secondary Disk
Pools that need to be associated with a primary disk pool and select Recover
Group.
- On the Confirm Recover Disk Pool Group dialog box, select the primary
disk pool that you want associated with the secondary disk pools. Only the
primary disk pools that are currently owned by the system are available to
select. You cannot change the primary after you perform this action.
- Click Recover Group.
