Linux in a logical partition

IBM® and a variety of Linux distributors have partnered to integrate the Linux operating system with the reliability of the iSeries™ server. Linux brings a new generation of Web based applications to the iSeries. IBM has modified the Linux PowerPC® kernel to run on previous iSeries servers and in a logical partition hosted by either AIX® or i5/OS® and contributed the kernel back to the Linux community. This topic contains information on how to plan a strategy that you can use to ensure Linux is successfully installed on your server, how to configure a logical partition to run Linux, and how to manage and troubleshoot a logical partition running Linux.
