From the command-line interface, you can start an iSeries™ printer.
Before you start the printer, verify the following conditions:
The printer is turned on and ready.
The printer or print method has been configured in the operating system.
To start an iSeries printer from the command line interface,
perform the following steps:
Vary on the printer:
Enter WRKCFGSTS *DEV *PRT command. The Work with Configuration
Status display shows a list of devices.
Enter a 1 next to the printer device description to vary on
the printer.
Use the Start Print Writer (STRPRTWTR) command to start the print
writer, and specify the printer and output queue (or queues) that the writer
will service.
