Scheduled I/O processor moves are successful only if the LPAR configuration
does not create any "In Use" or "Unknown State" warnings for the I/O processor.
You must make sure that all I/O adapters under this I/O processor
are varied off before the scheduled task runs. You can also schedule the vary
off of the I/O adapters by creating and scheduling a Command Definition in
the Management Central folder.
All scheduled IOP moves might not be
valid when the primary partition has been restarted. Each IOP move uses an
LPAR System Resource ID to identify which IOP you want to move. The LPAR Resource
ID is valid as long as the primary partition has not been restarted. This
implementation only applies to the IOP scheduling function and does not apply
to the scheduling of interactive performance, memory, or processing power.
Attention: Use caution when selecting "Remove hardware resource information
from source partition" for a scheduled I/O processor move because this removes
hardware resource information from the partition that owns the I/O processor
when the move runs.
