Central site distribution of program temporary fixes (PTFs)

Start of changeThe central site distribution process allows you to apply fixes to the central system and distribute them to the target system. You apply fixes only once.End of change

You can distribute fixes as part of the software involved in a full-system upgrade or logical partition. In the central site distribution process, fixes are distributed as follows. First, fixes are applied to the central system. When the distribution media is created, fixes are saved to the distribution media and distributed. Finally, when the distribution media is installed at the target systems, the Licensed Internal Code Copy A and Copy B is replaced and licensed programs are installed at the central system PTF level.

Another advantage is that the target systems will be at the same PTF and release levels as the central system.
