Considerations for the automatic creation of APPC controller descriptions on the LAN

The automatic creation of advanced program-to-program communications (APPC) controller and device descriptions is done in the communications arbiters (QCMNARBxx) jobs. Consider changing these default parameters based on your environment and potential error recovery considerations.

When the APPC controller is automatically configured by default, the system sets these values in the APPC controller description:

When configuring your LAN, use the AUTOCRTCTL parameter on the following commands:

Note:
The AUTOCRTCTL function finds and varies on existing APPN controller descriptions if a matching one is found. Thus, you can use the AUTOCRTCTL function to eliminate the need to vary on the configuration objects at initial program load (IPL) time. The system varies them on as needed.
