You can create message queues to store messages within a particular
library.
The message queue provides you a place to receive and store informational
and inquiry messages efficiently.
To create a message queue,
follow these steps:
From the i5/OS™ Main
Menu, select option 3 (General system tasks).
From the General Systems Tasks display, select option
4 (Messages).
From the Messages display, select option 7 (Create
a message queue).
In the Message Queue Parameter field, enter
the name of the new message queue.
To specify additional message queue characteristics,
press F10 (Additional Parameters). You can specify the following characteristics:
Place all message queue changes into auxiliary storage. This includes
changes to the message queue attributes and changes due to messages that are
sent or removed from the queue.
Specify the message queue size.
Specify user authority.
Specify whether the message queue allows the system to generate an alert.
Specify the coded character set ID (CCSID).
