The iSeries™ server supports
access to nonkeyed physical files via the DDM sequential file model.
The support has the following characteristics:
- The sequential file can be delete or nondelete capable on an iSeries server.
- The sequential file on an iSeries server can
have a fixed-length record (RECFIX) or variable-length record (RECVAR) for
storage. Once a non-iSeries source
server opens a file on the iSeries target
using variable-length record access, the iSeries target
continues to send and receive variable-length records on all subsequent I/O
operations.
