The database system allows multiple users to access and change
a file at the same time. You can specify the file sharing with the SHARE parameter.
The SHARE parameter allows sharing of opened files in the same job. For
example, sharing a file in a job allows programs in the job to share the file's
status, record position, and buffer. The file sharing can improve
performance by reducing:
- The amount of storage the job needs.
- The time required to open and close the file.
