This topic covers the planning documentation for Integrated xSeries hardware.
The first task you must complete before you install Linux® on the Integrated xSeries hardware is the planning documentation:
- Integrated xSeries® Server
If you are installing Linux on an Integrated xSeries Server, work through the IXS install readme first at the following Web site:

- Integrated xSeries Adapter
If you are installing Linux on an Integrated xSeries Adapter-attached xSeries, work through the IXA install readme first at the following Web site:
http://www.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/integratedxseries/ixareadme/
Note: The IXA readme refers to a ServerGuide™ install. ServerGuide™ is xSeries software that simplifies the installation of a Windows® server; however, it is not applicable to Linux.This Web site points to other documents that you should also review, especially the Integrated xSeries Adapter installation instructions:

These documents are particularly important when you come to physically install the Integrated xSeries Adapter card in the xSeries server, so be sure to use a current copy each time you do an install.
