Install the required iSeries licensed program for Linux integration

This topic discusses the iSeries™ licensed program for Linux® integration installation requirements.

Linux integration support requires the i5/OS Integrated Server Support (5722-SS1 option 29) and 5722-LSV licensed programs to be installed on your iSeries.

To verify that 5722-SS1 option 29 and 5722-LSV are installed, complete the following steps:

  1. Type GO LICPGM on a command line and press Enter. The Work with Licensed Programs menu is displayed.
  2. Type 10 and press Enter. You see the Display Installed Licensed Programs display. Scroll down to verify that the 5722-SS1 option 29 and 5722-LSV are installed.
  3. If 5722-SS1 option 29 and 5722-LSV are not installed you need to find the media that the system was installed from.
  4. Insert the CD-ROM containing 5722-SS1 option 29 and 5722-LSV into the iSeries optical drive.
  5. Return to the Work with Licensed Programs display and select option 11, Install licensed programs.
  6. Page down the list of program products and type 1 next to the 5722-SS1 option 29 and 5722-LSV option.
  7. Verify that you selected the correct options on the confirmation display. Press Enter.
  8. Type the device name for the optical drive being used. Press Enter.
  9. The Linux integration software is now installed.
