Deleting Linux drives

This topic discusses deleting integrated Linux® server drives.

Deleting Linux drives using iSeries™ Navigator

To delete a Linux drive using iSeries Navigator, complete the following steps:

  1. Shut down the Linux server to which the drive is linked.
  2. Unlink the Linux drive that you want to delete.
  3. Click All Virtual Disks under Integrated Server Administration.
  4. Right-click the drive you want to delete.
  5. Select Delete to delete the drive.
  6. Click Delete.

To delete multiple Linux drives simultaneously, hold down the control key (Ctrl) and click each of the drives you want to delete. Then right-click one of the selected drives and click Delete.

Deleting Linux drives using CL commands

To delete a Linux drive using a CL command, complete the following:

  1. Shut down the Linux server to which the drive is linked.
  2. Unlink the Linux drive that you want to delete.
  3. Type in WRKNWSSTG. Press Enter.

    The Work with Network Server Storage Spaces display appears. Type 4 in the Opt column next to the storage space that you want to delete. Press Enter. The Confirm Delete Network Server Storage Space display appears.

  4. Alternatively, you can type DLTNWSSTG on the command line. Press Enter. The Delete Network Server Storage Space display appears.
  5. Press Enter. You see a message at the bottom of the display confirming that the storage space was deleted successfully.
