Specify an AFP font
There are many different tools you can use to specify Advanced Function Presentation™ (AFP™) fonts in your document. Each tool has different capabilities. Use
the tool that best fits your needs. These tools are discussed in greater detail
in other topics and related publications.
- DDS
- You can use keywords in your Data description specifications (DDS) application
to specify fonts, including how they look and how they are placed. The example
in the Example: Specify a font topic uses DDS.
- IBM® Infoprint® Designer for iSeries™
- This graphical tool lets you use menus to specify fonts and font properties,
such as size and weight. You can also specify placement properties, such as
alignment and orientation.
- AFP printer driver
- This device driver can be used to produce AFP documents, overlays, and page segments
from any Windows® 2000/XP application that supports printing
to AFP printers.
- IBM Advanced Function Printing™ Utilities for iSeries
- You can specify fonts in the components of AFP Utilities.
- Third-party applications
- Several third-party applications exist that you can use to work with
fonts in a document. Some such products are Papyris, Elixir, Opus, StreamServe,
and DOC1.
