Delete a time zone

View this topic to learn about deleting time zones. This topic describes what time zones can be deleted and provides step-by-step instructions on how to delete a time zone that is no longer used on the system.

When you delete a time zone, the time zone object is removed from the system. You will no longer be able to access the time zone object. You can only delete time zones that you have authority to. In addition, you cannot delete the time zone that is currently in use on the system.

Note: It is recommended that you do not delete the IBM-supplied time zones.

To delete a time zone, complete the following steps:

  1. In iSeries™ Navigator, expand My Connections > server-name > Configuration and Service > Time Management > Time Zones.
  2. On the Time Zones dialog box, view the time zones listed in the Available time zones field and select the time zone you want to delete.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Click OK to confirm the delete.
  5. Click OK to close the Time Zones dialog box.
