iSeries™ Access for Web provides support for distribution of files from the server to the end user workstation.
A list of tasks that can be performed is shown below. Any of these tasks can be restricted using the Customize function.
- Download
You can display a list of files that have been made available
for download. The list shows only the downloads to which you have authority.
From the list, you can download files to your workstation. Download files
can also be managed by the user who created the file, by a user with *SECADM
authority, or by a user who has been granted authority to manage the file.
Management capabilities include the ability to edit the name, edit the description,
update the file, update access to the file, and delete the file from the Downloads
list. 
- Create downloads
- You can add files to the list of files available for download
by users. This could be an individual file or a group of files packaged or
compressed into a single file. When you create a download, only the creator
and those with *SECADM authority can access it. Other users can be granted
access to the download by working with the download in the download list.
When a download package is created, it will only be available within the web
serving environment in which it was created. Packages are not available to
other users running in a different Web serving environment. To make the package
available to those users, a new download package would need to be created
within that Web serving environment.
