What's new for V5R4 for XML Toolkit for iSeries

This topic describes the XML, XSL, XML Script for iSeries™, and Web Services Client for C++ strategy change for version V1R1M0 of the XML Toolkit. These changes are specific to XML Toolkit, version V1R1M0.

Start of changeTo ensure the availability of the latest versions of the XML parsers, the XML Toolkit for iSeries (5733-XT1) was developed. The XML Toolkit replaces, both in functionality and support, the integrated XML parsers introduced in i5/OS™ in V5R1. This offering consists of two new parsers: XML4C 5.5 for C++ and XML4PR 5.5 for procedural languages (ILE RPG, ILE C, and ILE COBOL), as well as versions 4.0, 5.0, 5.2, 5.3.1 and their supporting API documentation, sample programs, and include files. This offering includes versions 1.9 and 1.6 of the XSL transformer and their supporting API documentation, sample programs, and include files. The Java™ version of the XML parser is available in the IBM® Toolbox for Java (5722 JV1). Older versions of the Java version of the XML parser can be found in the integrated file system directory /QIBM/ProdData/OS400/xml/lib.End of change
