Connect the twinaxial cable

To connect the twinaxial cable, follow these instructions.

  1. Look at card positions C11, C10, C03, C02, and C01 on the back of the server. Locate the position that contains card 2746. This is your twinaxial adapter card. If more than one position contains card 2746, then select the first card found in this order: position C11, C10, C03, C02, or C01.
  2. Locate the 8-port twinaxial attachment cable (PN 21F5093). Attach the cable to the connector on the 2746 twinaxial adapter card. You must supply this twinaxial cable.
  3. Connect a twinaxial cable from the workstation that you will be using as the system console to port 0 on the 8-port twinaxial attachment cable.
    Note: The workstation address of your console must be set to 0. To set the address, refer to the reference material that was shipped with your workstation.
  4. Continue with the next task.
