The IBM® InfoWindow* display station can be locally attached to the iSeries server or remotely attached to the IBM 5294 or 5394 Remote Control Unit using twinaxial cable. The InfoWindow® has a printer port that can support attachment of most personal printers.
The attached printer can be used either as a local screen printer or as a system printer to print i5/OS spooled jobs (for example, printing an i5/OS document or a job generated on a personal computer using the network printer function).
There are several advantages to using personal printers that attach to the InfoWindow. The lower cost and smaller size of personal printers makes it convenient to put personal printers at your display stations that are attached to your iSeries server.
