Example details: iSeries server DLUR support with connection to the host server

Figure 3 shows the iSeries™ system values that need to match the VTAM® values when you use iSeries system DLUR and VTAM. The following table describes the relationships shown in Figure 3 between the iSeries system values and the VTAM values. The values shown and described here are example values.

Table 5. iSeries system value relationships to VTAM values
iSeries system parameter name and value iSeries parameter value description VTAM startup parameter values
Network Attribute: LCLNETID = APPN The value for this iSeries parameter should match the VTAM Switched Major Node Definition physical unit (PU) value of the NETID attribute. NETID = APPN
Line Description: ADPTADR = 400000000365 The value for this iSeries parameter matches the last 12 characters for the VTAM DAILNO attribute value of the PATH parameter. DIALNO = 0604400000000365
Line Description: MAXFRAME = 1994 The value for this iSeries parameter matches the VTAM value for the PU attribute MAXDATA. MAXDATA = 1994
Host Controller Description: RMTNETID = USIBMZP The value for this iSeries parameter matches the VTAM parameter value for NETID. NETID = USIBMZP
Host Controller Description: RMTCPNAME = R5CDRM The value for this iSeries parameter matches the VTAM value for the SSCPNAME parameter. SSCPNAME = R5CDRM
Host Controller Description: LCLCHID = 05613014 The value for this iSeries parameter is the combination of the VTAM values for the PU attributes IDBLK and IDNUM.

IDBLK = 056

IDNUM = 13014

Host Controller Description: SSAP = 04 The value for this iSeries parameter matches the third and fourth characters in the VTAM DIALNO attribute on the Path parameter. DIALNO = 0604400000000365
Host Controller Description: ADPTADR = 400037000001 The value for this iSeries parameter matches the VTAM NCP Generation Token Ring Definition value for LOCADD. LOCADD = 400037000001
Note: The following iSeries system parameters are related.
  • The Host Controller Description LINE parameter value, *TRNLINE, defines the type of line to which the controller is connecting. The line type is determined by the line description (LIND) parameter.
