Perform dynamic movement of resources

You can dynamically move processors, memory, and interactive performance.

Dynamic movement of resources provides users the ability to move resources between partitions without requiring a partition or system restart. To take full advantage of this enhancement your primary and secondary partitions must be running OS/400^® or i5/OS™ V5R1 or V5R2.

• Select interactive performance
  Every physical system is purchased with a specific quantity of interactive performance which is allocated to the partition as a percentage of the total system interactive performance.
• Determine the amount of memory to move
  Primary partitions need a minimum of 256 MB of memory.
• Allocate processor power
  The ability to move processor power dynamically becomes important when you need to adjust to changing workloads.
