The 6xx, 7xx, Sxx, 8xx, and 890 n-way base servers support logical partitions (LPAR).
However, the 6xx, 7xx, and Sx0 models do not support the shared processor pool or Linux® in a secondary partition.
For upgrade customers, the current physical placement of hardware may restrict your configuration choices. For server-specific information, consult the Technical information section on the Logical Partition web site, and contact your business partner, marketing representative, or service specialist.

You can create a maximum of one logical partitions for each installed processor using dedicated processors. Or you can use the shared processor pool and specify a partial amount of processors for the partition.
