Change values for the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol client

To change the values on the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) client, follow these steps:

  1. In the character-based interface, type CHGPIE (the Change Job Entries command). The Change Job Entries display appears.
  2. Enter the following values after the prompt and press Enter.

    Library QSYS
    Program QTMSCLCP
    Library QTCP
    Start jobs *SAME
    Initial number of jobs 4
    Threshold 2
    Additional number of jobs 2
    Maximum number of jobs 20

These values guarantee that the SMTP client will start four prestart jobs, start two additional jobs when the available jobs fall below two, and allow twenty prestart jobs as the maximum.
