Create an archive policy

You can create an archive policy to handle infrequently used objects on your system.

You can create a new archive policy to control what items you archive and when. The New Archive Policy wizard enables you to create an archive policy, select the media you want to use for that policy, and then run or schedule the policy once it is created. You can also create an archive policy based on the properties of an existing archive policy. To create a new archive policy, follow these steps:
  1. In iSeries™ Navigator, expand My Connections (or your active environment).
  2. Expand a system with Backup, Recovery and Media Services installed on it.
  3. Expand Backup, Recovery and Media Services.
  4. Right-click Archive Policiesand select New Policy
  5. On the Welcome page, click Next.
  6. Follow the wizard's instructions to create the archive policy.
