The network server description (NWSD) defines the operating characteristics and communications connections of the network server that controls the Windows server.
Use a name that is easy to remember. The name can have up to 8 characters. Use only the characters A-Z and 0-9 in the name, and use a letter for the first character. The network server description name is also the computer name and TCP/IP host name of the Windows server. The description can have up to 50 characters.
