Control automatic configuration

You control automatic configuration by the AUTOCRTCTL parameter in the token ring, Ethernet, DDI, or WLS line descriptions. This parameter can be changed at any time. It is not necessary to vary off controllers that are attached to these line descriptions before changing the AUTOCRTCTL parameter to *YES or *NO.

Automatic configuration is controlled on a line-by-line basis. That is, one line may specify AUTOCRTCTL(*YES) and another line may specify AUTOCRTCTL(*NO). The automatic configuration support for LANs is not related to the QAUTOCFG system value. The setting of QAUTOCFG has no effect on this support.

Note:

When you are running APPC over TCP/IP, there is no line that is directly associated with the APPC controller. Therefore, the APPC over TCP/IP controllers LINKTYPE (*ANYNW) must be manually created.
