Careful, complete, and early preparation saves a considerable amount of time and can help make your software release upgrade on your system run smoothly. To do the tasks in this topic, you will need to sign on as security officer (QSECOFR user profile). Allow ample time (a few weeks or days before the installation) to complete these tasks before you perform the actual installation tasks.
If you are setting up logical partitions, you need to plan in advance of your installation and have a basic understanding of logical partitions plus your software and hardware requirements.
