Upgrading or replacing software using automatic installation

Follow these instructions to use the automatic installation method to replace the Licensed Internal Code, the IBM^® i5/OS™ operating system, and licensed programs currently installed on your system with the V5R4 release.

1. Before you begin automatic installation
   Verify these points before you upgrade to a new i5/OS release.
