Experience Report

Oracle Migration

This document describes the process of migrating an Oracle(TM) database to DB2(R) Universal Database(TM) for iSeries(TM) using the Oracle Migration Toolkit (MTK). The process has been broken down into 6 subtasks, and each is explained in detail. Please note that for the purposes of generating this report, we did not use the "migration wizard" portion of the tool. We went through the process of doing all of the subtasks that the tool provides, so that each could be described in this report.

Finding more information

The MTK tool provides extensive online help that covers each topic in more detail than this experience report. However, since the tool is built to run against different DB2 platforms, certain details in the generic help either don't apply to the iSeries deployment or are missing from the help. That is why this experience report was created. It should be considered a complement to the help text, since it is specifically aimed at the iSeries migration process.
