Order fix cover letters

How, when, and why to order fix cover letters.

The Send PTF Order (SNDPTFORD) command allows you to prepare an order for:

Individual fixes
Cumulative PTF packages
Group fix
Summary information for available fixes
Preventive Service Planning (PSP) information

Additionally, the SNDPTFORD command allows you to specify whether you want to order complete fixes or cover letters only (*CVRLTR) for fix parts. Use the cover letters only option by specifying PTFPART(*CVRLTR) to preview new fixes and to determine whether or not you want to order that fix. To order a fix cover letter without ordering the fix, complete these steps from any command line:

Type: SNDPTFORD nnnnnnn PTFPART(*CVRLTR)
Press Enter.
Verify contact information. This information is used by your service representative to contact you or send you service information. You can specify the language in which you want to receive your cover letter. If the language that you specify is not available, the cover letter is sent in English.
