Manage dynamic update keys

Dynamic update keys are used for securing dynamic updates by the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server.

These keys must be present when Domain Name System (DNS) and DHCP are on the same iSeries™. If DHCP is on a different iSeries, you must create the same dynamic update key on each iSeries server to allow secure dynamic updates.

To manage dynamic update keys, follow these steps:

  1. In iSeries Navigator, expand your iSeries server > Network > Servers > DNS.
  2. Right-click DNS and select Manage Dynamic Update Keys.
