Configure TCP/IP over token ring

You can use iSeries™ Navigator to configure token-ring support for TCP/IP.

Follow these steps:
  1. If you have not done so already, install iSeries Navigator.
  2. iSeries Navigator can use an existing line description. To use an existing line description, change it. Then return here to continue these steps.
  3. In iSeries Navigator, expand the server that will provide token-ring support for TCP/IP.
  4. Use the LAN Configuration Wizard to configure a new TCP/IP interface to use token ring with TCP/IP. As you create a new token-ring line for the 100 Mbps card while creating the interface, remember these items about the duplex modes:
    • At 4 Mbps or 16 Mbps you can use half-duplex or full-duplex modes.
    • At 100 Mbps you can only use full duplex.
  5. If you did not start the TCP/IP interface, you can do so now by enabling it to accept connections.
