You must coordinate several parameter values that are specified for the iSeries™ system and IBM® Financial Branch System Services (FBSS) finance controllers in the controller configuration. The following table shows those iSeries configuration parameters that must match values on the SDLC, Token-Ring, or X.25DLC configuration displays for FBSS controllers.
iSeries prompts are listed in alphabetical order by parameter name; the iSeries commands on which the parameters are specified are included in the rightmost column of the table.
For more information about configuring FBSS controllers, see the IBM Financial Branch System Services Installation Planning and Administration Guide, SC19-5173.
For more information about configuring the 4700 controllers, see Volume 6 of the 4700 Finance Communication System Controller Programming Library, GC31-2068.
To configure the iSeries server to a FBSS finance controller:
iSeries Prompt | iSeries Parameter | FBSS Configuration Display | FBSS Prompt |
---|---|---|---|
LAN adapter address | ADPTADR | Token Ring Communications | PC address
If the iSeries system uses a Token-Ring network line to connect to the FBSS controller, values specified for the FBSS and on the ADPTADR parameter on the CRTLINTRN command must match. If the iSeries system uses an Ethernet line through an 8209 LAN Bridge, see "Appendix C: Local Area Network Addressing Considerations" in the Communications Configuration book. |
Host/37xx/4700 address
If the iSeries system uses a Token-Ring network line to connect to the FBSS controller, values specified for the FBSS and on the ADPTADR parameter on the CRTLINTRN command must match. If the iSeries system uses an Ethernet line through an 8209 LAN Bridge, see "Appendix C: Local Area Network Addressing Considerations" in the Communications Configuration book. |

Connection type | CNN | SDLC Communications | Switched line
Values specified for the FBSS and iSeries configurations must match:
|
Destination service access point | DSAP | Token Ring Communications | Service access point for
PC
Values specified for the FBSS and for the DSAP parameter on the CRTCTLFNC command must match. |
Duplex | DUPLEX | SDLC Communications | Line mode
Values specified for the FBSS and iSeries configurations must match:
|
Exchange identifier | EXCHID | SDLC Communications | Identification block and Identification number
The values specified for the FBSS controller must match the value specified in the EXCHID parameter of the CRTCTLFNC command. The EXCHID parameter must be specified as: xxxyyyyy, where xxx matches the FBSS Identification block and yyyyy matches the FBSS Identification number. |
Link type | LINKTYPE | Communication Servers | Data Link Control
Values specified for the FBSS and iSeries configurations must match:
|
Local location address | LOCADR | Session-Id and LU Assignments | Host Logical Unit Numbers
FBSS logical unit number must match the LOCADR parameter value specified on the CRTDEVFNC command. The FBSS logical unit assignments are decimal numbers; the iSeries values must be hexadecimal. |
LU Assignments for Display Emulators
LU Assignments for 3287 Printer Emulator |
Host Logical Unit Numbers
FBSS logical unit number must match the LOCADR parameter value specified on the CRTDEVDSP or CRTDEVPRT command for 3270 devices attached to the FBSS controller. The FBSS logical unit assignments are decimal numbers; the iSeries values must be hexadecimal. |
||
NRZI data encoding | NRZI | SDLC Communications | N.R.Z.I.
Values specified for the iSeries CRTLINSDLC command and the FBSS controller must match. |
Source service access point | SSAP | Token Ring Communications | Service access point for
Host/37xx/4700
Values specified for the FBSS and for the SSAP parameter on the CRTCTLFNC command must match. |
SSCP identifier | SSCPID | SSCP Names | SSCP namexx
If used, the value specified for the FBSS controller must match the last 10 digits of the SSCPID parameter on the CRTCTLFNC command. |
Station address | STNADR | SDLC Communications | Station address
Values specified for the iSeries CRTCTLFNC command and the FBSS controller must match. |
