You can update the configuration data for every active logical
partition by copying it manually from the primary partition to all active
logical partitions.
Attention: You should only perform these steps when instructed
to do so by a service representative.
All inactive partitions will
update automatically on their next restart.
Attention: Using
this function when the configuration data on the primary partition is incorrect
ruins your existing configuration.
To update configuration data using
My Connections, follow these steps:
- In iSeries™ Navigator,
expand My Connectionsor your active environment.
- Select the primary partition of the system.
- Expand Configuration and Service and select Logical
Partitions.
- Right-click the Logical Partition and select Configure
Partitions. You are now working in the Configure Logical Partitions
window.
- Right-click Physical System and select Recovery and Update
configuration data.
To update configuration data using the service tools window, follow
these steps:
- In iSeries Navigator,
select My Connections or your active environment.
- Select Open iSeries Navigator service tools window in
the Taskpad window. If the Taskpad window is not displayed, select View and
select Taskpad.
- Enter the IP address of the service tool network
interface to which you want to connect. Click OK.
- You will be prompted for your Service Tools User ID and user
password.
- Expand the system name select Logical Partitions.
- Right-click the logical partition and select Configure Partitions.
You are now working in the Configure Logical Partitions window.
- Right-click Physical System and select Recovery and Update
configuration data.
You can use iSeries Navigator to update logical partition configuration
data. To update configuration data using Management Central, follow these
steps:
- In iSeries Navigator,
expand Management Central.
- Expand Systems with Partitions.
- Select the physical system from which you would like to update configuration
data.
- Right-click the logical partition and select Configure Partitions.
You are now working in the Configure Logical Partitions window.
- Right-click Physical System and select Recovery and Update
configuration data.
