General Inspector Properties
The general properties panel shows a subset of properties that are
common to all chart inspectors. For specific chart options, select
the tab representing that chart type. For advanced customization
options, right click on the chart to display a context menu.
The General panel provides these options:
- Title
- Type the chart title. To create separate lines, use the
Enter key.
- Axis Title
- Enter the title to be displayed for the X or Y axis.
- Scale Origin
- Select the default option to allow the charting component
to calculate the axis origin. Enter a number if you'd like to
specify the axis origin yourself.
- Scale Maximum
- Select the default option to allow the charting component
to calculate the axis maximum. Enter a number if you'd like to
specify the axis maximum yourself.
- Tick Mark Interval
- Select the default option to allow the charting component to
calulate the value between tick marks. Enter a number to
specify the data interval yourself. Specify this value in terms
of your data, not in terms of the total number of tick marks
to display.
- Label Every
- Select the data interval to use when labelling tick marks.
Select the default option to allow the charting component to
calculate the value. Enter your own value in terms of your data
if you wish to set it yourself. Using the tick mark interval
and label interval, you can have major, or labelled, tick marks,
and minor, or unlabelled, tick marks.
- Show Legend
- Select the checkbox if you would like to display a legend
on the chart.
- at position
- Select the location where the legend will appear.
- Footer
- Type the chart footer. To create separate lines, use the
Enter key.
