General Inspector Properties

The general properties panel shows a subset of properties that are common to all chart inspectors. For specific chart options, select the tab representing that chart type. For advanced customization options, right click on the chart to display a context menu.

The General panel provides these options:

Title
Type the chart title. To create separate lines, use the Enter key.
Axis Title
Enter the title to be displayed for the X or Y axis.
Scale Origin
Select the default option to allow the charting component to calculate the axis origin. Enter a number if you'd like to specify the axis origin yourself.
Scale Maximum
Select the default option to allow the charting component to calculate the axis maximum. Enter a number if you'd like to specify the axis maximum yourself.
Tick Mark Interval
Select the default option to allow the charting component to calulate the value between tick marks. Enter a number to specify the data interval yourself. Specify this value in terms of your data, not in terms of the total number of tick marks to display.
Label Every
Select the data interval to use when labelling tick marks. Select the default option to allow the charting component to calculate the value. Enter your own value in terms of your data if you wish to set it yourself. Using the tick mark interval and label interval, you can have major, or labelled, tick marks, and minor, or unlabelled, tick marks.

Select the checkbox if you would like to display a legend on the chart.
at position
Select the location where the legend will appear.
