i5/OS file server file system (QFileSvr.400)

The QFileSvr.400 file system provides transparent access to other file systems that reside on remote iSeries™ servers. It is accessed through a hierarchical directory structure.

• Case-sensitivity in the QFileSvr.400 file system
  For a first-level directory, which actually represents the "root" (/) directory of the target system, the QFileSvr.400 file system preserves the same uppercase and lowercase form in which object names are entered.
• Path names in the QFileSvr.400 file system
  Path names have specific form in the QFileSvr.400 file system.

  The QFileSvr.400 file system communicates in the following ways.
• Security and object authority in the QFileSvr.400 file system
  If both of the systems have Network Authentication Service and Enterprise Identity Mapping (EIM) configured, and the user has authenticated with Kerberos, then Kerberos can be used to authenticate to access a file system that resides on a target iSeries server.
