decimal and the keyboard shift attribute is signed numeric (S) unless you

<li>If you make no entry in positions 36 and 37, the data type is character

and the keyboard shift attribute is alphanumeric shift (A).</li>

<p>If you specify the REFSHIFT keyword for a referenced field, the specified

value is used. Otherwise, a data type of packed or binary is converted to

zoned decimal in the display file. Conversion to or from packed or binary
