operating system.</li>

<li>TCP/IP is configured.</li>
|
||

<li>Ken has IOSYSCFG authority.</li>

||

expand <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">your iSeries server</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Network</span> > <span class="uicontrol">Servers</span> > <span class="uicontrol">TCP/IP</span></span>.</li>
|
||
|
<li>In the right pane, in the Server Name column, locate <span class="uicontrol">Telnet</span>.</li>
|
||
|
<li>Confirm that <span class="uicontrol">Started</span> appears in the Status column.</li>
|
||
|
<li>If the server is not running, right-click <span class="uicontrol">Telnet</span> and
|
||
|
click <span class="uicontrol">Start</span>.</li>

||

<li>Set the number of virtual devices. <ol class="compact" type="a"><li>In iSeries Navigator,

<li>Activate the QSYSWRK subsystem.<p>Check the status of the QSYSWRK subsystem:</p>

the library, then press <span class="uicontrol">Enter</span>.</li>

<li>Repeat for Subsystem name <span class="uicontrol">QINTER</span> with Library <span class="uicontrol">QSYS</span>,
|
||

and for Subsystem name <span class="uicontrol">QSPL</span> with Library <span class="uicontrol">QSYS</span>.</li>

<li>Create Telnet user profiles.<ol class="compact" type="a"><li>Start iSeries Navigator

and expand <span class="uicontrol">your iSeries server</span>.</li>

<li>Right-click <span class="uicontrol">Users and Groups</span> and select <span class="uicontrol">New

||
|
User</span>.</li>

<li>Enter the user name, description, and password.</li>

||

<li>To specify a job description, click <span class="uicontrol">Jobs</span> and enter

||
|
the job description.</li>
