<h3 id="rzahqtgmpi">Unreadable messages in the server message queue</h3>
|
||
|
|
<p>Windows event log messages do not display correctly if the message queue
|
||
|
|
coded character set identifier (CCSID) is set to <tt>*HEX
|
||
|
|
(65535)</tt>. If you get unreadable messages in the server message queue (identified
|
||
|
|
by the MSGQ parameter of the NWSD), take the following action.</p>
|
||
|
|
<ol type="1">
|
||
|
|
<li>At the i5/OS console, enter the command <tt>CHGMSGQ</tt> to change the server message queue CCSID to something other than <tt>*HEX (65535)</tt>, for example <tt>*MSG</tt>.
|
||
|
|
<p>For example, if the message queue name is <tt>MYSVRQ</tt> in library <tt>MYLIB</tt>, then you can use
|
||
|
|
the following command on i5/OS to change the message queue CCSID: <tt>CHGMSGQ MSGQ(MYLIB/MYSVRQ) CCSID(*MSG)</tt>.</p></li>

<li>If the problem still persists, check the technical information databases
|
||
