<h2 id="endnet">Starting and stopping iSeries NetServer</h2>
<p>Starting iSeries NetServer&trade; allows you to immediately begin sharing data and printers
with your PC clients. iSeries NetServer starts automatically when TCP/IP is started.
If you ever need to restart iSeries NetServer, then follow these steps:</p>
<ol type="1">
<li>Open a connection to iSeries Navigator on your iSeries server.</li>
<li>Expand <span class="bold">Network</span>.</li>
<li>Expand <span class="bold"> Servers</span>.</li>
<li>Click <span class="bold">TCP/IP</span>.</li>
<li>Right-click <span class="bold">iSeries NetServer</span> and select <span class="bold">Start</span>.</li></ol>
<p>A faster method of starting iSeries NetServer using iSeries Access for Windows is:</p>
<ol type="1">
<li>Open a connection to iSeries Navigator on your iSeries server.</li>
<li>Expand <span class="bold">File System</span>.</li>
<li>Right-click <span class="bold">File Shares</span> and select <span class="bold">Open iSeries NetServer</span>.</li>
<li>Right-click <span class="bold">iSeries NetServer</span> and select <span class="bold">Start</span>.</li></ol>
<p>If you do not have iSeries Navigator installed, use the following command
to start iSeries NetServer:</p>
<pre class="xmp">STRTCPSVR *NETSVR</pre>
<p>Stopping iSeries NetServer allows you to end all sharing of iSeries resources with iSeries NetServer.
Stopping and then restarting iSeries NetServer also allows you to change iSeries NetServer configuration.</p>
<p>To stop iSeries NetServer, follow these steps:</p>
<ol type="1">
<li>Open iSeries Navigator and connect to the system you want to work with.</li>
<li>Expand <span class="bold">Network</span>.</li>
<li>Expand <span class="bold">Servers</span>.</li>
<li>Click <span class="bold">TCP/IP</span> to retrieve a list of TCP/IP servers
available.</li>
<li>Right-click <span class="bold">iSeries NetServer</span> and select <span class="bold">Stop</span>.</li></ol>
<p>If you do not have iSeries Navigator installed, use the following command
to stop iSeries NetServer:</p>
