<h1 class="topictitle1">OBJ parameter</h1>
<div><p>The object (OBJ) parameter specifies the names of one or more objects
affected by the command in which this parameter is used.</p>
<div class="section"><p> If the OBJ parameter identifies objects that must exist in an i5/OS™
library, all of the objects must be in one of the following, depending upon
which command is used:</p>
<ul><li>the library specified in the LIB parameter,</li>
<li>the SAVLIB parameter,</li>
<li>the library qualifier in the OBJ parameter,</li>
<li>or the library part of the path name in the OBJ parameter</li>
</ul>
<p>On some commands, the generic name of a group of objects can be specified.
To form a generic name, add an asterisk (*) after the last character in the
common group of characters; for example, ABC*. If an * is not included with
the name, the system assumes that the name is a complete object name.</p>

types of values can be specified on the OBJ parameter:</p>
<ul><li>*ALL</li>
<li>Simple object name</li>
<li>Qualified object name</li>
<li>Generic object name</li>
<li>Qualified generic object name</li>
<li>Path name</li>
