<div><p>You can set up automatic text file conversion in <span class="keyword">iSeries™ Navigator</span>.
|
||
|
|
Automatic text file conversion allows you to use file extensions for file
|
||
|
|
data conversion. </p>
|
||
|
|
<div class="section"><p>The integrated file system can convert a data file when it is
|
||
|
|
transferred between an iSeries and a PC. When you access the data file from
|
||
|
|
a PC, it is handled as if it were in ASCII.</p>
|
||
|
|
<p>To set up file text conversion,
|
||
|
|
follow these steps:</p>
|
||
|

<ol><li><span>Expand the system that you want to use in <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol"><span class="keyword">iSeries Navigator</span></span> > <span class="uicontrol">File Systems</span></span>.</span></li>

<li><span>Right-click <span class="uicontrol">Integrated File System</span> and select <span class="uicontrol">Properties</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Enter the file extension that you want to convert automatically
|
||
|
|
in the <span class="uicontrol">File extensions for automatic text file conversion</span> text
|
||
|
|
box and click <span class="uicontrol">Add</span>.</span></li>
|
||
|
|
<li><span>Repeat step 3 for all file extensions that you want to convert
|
||
|
|
automatically.</span></li>
