<strong>Determine whether the <em>Host name search priority</em> prompt is set to *REMOTE.</strong>
<p>From the Configure TCP/IP menu, select option 12 (Change TCP/IP domain information). View the <em>Host name search priority</em> parameter.</p>
<p>If you set the <em>Host name search priority</em> to *REMOTE, the system first checks the DNS server to resolve the host name before it checks the local host table. If you set the <em>Host name search priority</em> to *LOCAL, the system first checks the local host table to resolve the host name before it checks a DNS server. <strong>Note:</strong> If you are using IPv6, there is no support for IPv6 addresses in local host tables.</p>
