<div><p>You might want to verify interfaces on the server.</p>
<p>Verify that the appropriate IPv4 or IPv6 interfaces are configured on your
server, and make sure they are active.</p>
<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">IPv4 interfaces</h4><p>To display information about the
IPv4 interfaces on your server, follow these steps:</p>
<ol><li>In iSeries™ Navigator,
expand your <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">iSeries server</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">TCP/IP Configuration</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">IPv4</span></span> .</li>
<li>Select <span class="uicontrol">Interfaces</span>.</li>
<li>You should have at least two active interfaces. Verify that these interfaces
are active:<ul><li>Loopback (127.0.0.1).</li>
<li><span>i5/OS™</span> IP address interface. This is the interface
on your local server.</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>If these interfaces are not active, right-click the IP address of the
interface you want to start, and select <span class="uicontrol">Start</span>.</li>
</ol>
<p>You might want to check the status of other interfaces. For example,
if you are trying to Ping interfaces on other hosts on the network, you should
verify that those interfaces are active.</p>

<div class="section"><h4 class="sectiontitle">IPv6 interfaces</h4><p>To display information about the
IPv6 interfaces on your server, follow these steps:</p>
<ol><li>In iSeries Navigator,
expand your <span class="menucascade"><span class="uicontrol">iSeries server</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">Network</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">TCP/IP Configuration</span> &gt; <span class="uicontrol">IPv6</span></span>.</li>
<li>Select <span class="uicontrol">Interfaces</span>. You should have
at least one active interface. Verify that this interface is active:<ul><li>Loopback (::1)</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>If this interface is not active, right-click the IP address of the interface
you want to start, and select <span class="uicontrol">Start</span>.</li>
</ol>
<p>You might want to check the status of other interfaces. For example,
