about FTP subcommands used by the local system, use the HELP subcommand in
|
||

this format:</p>

|
||
|
<dd>Displays a list of the FTP client subcommands.</dd>

||

<dt class="dlterm">subcommand</dt>
|
||
|
<dd>Provides detailed help for the specified client subcommand. For example, <samp class="codeph">HELP
|
||
|
GET</samp> tells you how to transfer a file from a remote system to your
|
||
|
local system. You may abbreviate the subcommand to a meaningful prefix.</dd>
|
||
|

<p>If you use the HELP subcommand without a parameter, you
|
||
|
see a list of subcommands and a general description of the help information
|
||
|
available. Context-sensitive help is available by positioning the cursor over
|
||
|
a command on the help display and then pressing the Enter key.</p>

the list of local subcommands on an iSeries™ server, enter:</p>

||

information can be obtained with the ? subcommand.</p>

FTP subcommands on the remote system, use the HELP subcommand in this format:</p>

|
||

<dd>Gives the help the remote system offers for FTP server subcommands. This

is similar to using QUOTE with the HELP parameter. QUOTE HELP lists the FTP
|
||
|
subcommands supported by the remote system.</dd>

||

<dt class="dlterm">subcommand</dt>
|
||
|
<dd>The name of the server subcommand that you want the information. For example, <samp class="codeph">HELP
|
||
|
SERVER STOR</samp> will request the server to provide help on the STOR subcommand.</dd>
