<div><p>This topic provides information about how to manage ports for the
administration (ADMIN) HTTP Server with the <span>IBM<sup>®</sup> Web Administration for i5/OS™ interface</span> and
using a 5250 session.</p>

for this topic supports the latest PTF levels for HTTP Server for i5/OS .
It is recommended that you install the latest PTFs to upgrade to the latest
level of the HTTP Server for i5/OS. Some of the topics documented here are
not available prior to this update. <div class="section"><p>The <span>IBM Web Administration for i5/OS interface</span> runs
on the ADMIN server. By default, the ADMIN server listens to port 2001. If
this port is being used by another Web server or another application on your iSeries™,
the <span>IBM Web Administration for i5/OS interface</span> will not start.
You can change the default port number for the ADMIN server at any time to
avoid conflicts with shared port numbers. </p>
<p>Two methods of editing your
ADMIN server's port number are given below. </p>

number, you will use the new port number to start the <span>IBM Web Administration for i5/OS interface</span>. </div>

<li class="stepexpand"><span>Enter <strong>WRKLNK ("/QIBM/UserData/HTTPA/admin/conf/admin-cust.conf")</strong> on
the command line.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Edit <strong>admin-cust.conf</strong> configuration file.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Add a line after <strong># Customer additions to the admin configuration</strong>.</span></li>
<li class="stepexpand"><span>Enter <strong>Listen [port_number]</strong> (where [port_number] is the new
port number you want the ADMIN server to listen on). </span> <p>Example:

<div><div class="p"><p>You will need authority to the file <strong>/QIBM/UserData/HTTPA/admin/conf/admin-cust.conf</strong> before
you can change the port number of the ADMIN server. </p>

<ol><li><span>Click the <span class="uicontrol">Manage</span> tab.</span></li>
<li><span>Click the <span class="uicontrol">HTTP Servers</span> subtab.</span></li>
<li><span>Select <strong>ADMIN</strong> from the <span class="uicontrol">Server</span> list.</span></li>
<li><span>Select <strong>Include /QIBM/UserData/HTTPA/admin/conf/admin-cust.conf</strong> from
the <span class="uicontrol">Server area</span> list.</span></li>
<li><span>Expand <span class="uicontrol">Server Properties</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">General Server Configuration</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Click the <span class="uicontrol">General Settings</span> tab in the form.</span></li>
<li><span>Click Add under the <strong>Server IP addresses and ports to listen
on</strong> table.</span></li>
<li><span>Enter a port number other than 2001.</span></li>
<li><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">Continue</span>.</span></li>
<li><span>Click <span class="uicontrol">OK</span>.</span></li>
